The foundation stone is composed of several stone blocks of different
sizes, on which the lower pedestal stone in a single block is placed
to support the body of the pagoda. Eave slopes are expressed on
the four corners of the lower pedestal stone and a triple-layered
support is placed at the center. The upper pedestal stone was originally
in a single block, but later was broken into two pieces. Its lower
part is treated in curved surfaces and a three-layered support accepting
the body is placed on its upper surface.
The first story is composed of a single block with corner posts
engraved in relief on its four corners. Its roof stone has gentle
slopes and the support of the roof stone is four-tiered. The body
of the second story is also made of a single block and has corner
posts expressed on it. Its rapidly diminishing size, however, gives
a rather unnatural impression. Its roof stone is in the same shape
as that of the first story, and the body and roof of the third story
are the same, too.
The decorations of the rooftop have been lost and the foundation
and the body are partially damaged. Still, the entire figure of
the pagoda retains a graceful figure. |
